Creating the most compelling, exciting products on the Internet

The Applications and Commerce Group is responsible for building the products and experiences that consumers have grown to know and love as AOL for the past 25 years. This includes, AOL Mail, AIM, our mobile products, games.com, shortcuts.com, AOL Shopping and about.me. Collectively, these properties drive about 50% of AOL's total page views and advertising impressions as well as three quarters of all new AOL registrations. Simply put, we build the products that are pivotal to driving traffic and engagement across the AOL network.

Mobile
The AOL Mobile team is focused on building best in class mobile experiences that enable our users to access and enjoy all that we have to offer from any device. The team is focused on building applications and mobile web experiences that connect users to existing AOL properties like Huffington Post, Shoutcast, AIM and TechCrunch with launches like Engadget Distro, a weekly recap of the best stories from Engadget and the popular Moviefone iPad app. The team is also working on new products that launch first on mobile devices: Editions by AOL, a free daily magazine for the iPad that delivers a unique and beautiful reading experience customized for each individual user, launched in August and PLAY by AOL Music, which is one of the first of these mobile-first initiatives, was an early hit garnering over 400,000 downloads in a matter of week.

AIM
AIM is the simplest, most powerful way to converse, share and consume content with friends. AIM's popular mobile app even allows you to take the conversation with you on the go. Now AV by AIM, AOL's new super-simple video chat service, allows you to connect with up to four people - no account is required!

about.me
about.me is the most elegant, simple, and visually compelling solution for representing identity online. Many people have multiple online profiles scattered across various services, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr, and Twitter; about.me enables users to easily pull all of this disparate information together to build a single on-line identity.
