In most cases, benefits for you and your eligible family members begin on your first day of work.
Medical Benefits
Select from several medical benefit options for the coverage that works best for you and your family. Choices include a Preferred Provider Option (PPO) plan, an Exclusive Provider Option (EPO) plan, a traditional indemnity plan for employees who live outside the network area, and regional HMOs (available in select locations). Employee contributions are based on salary.
Dental Benefits
Choose between a low-cost, preventive care-only dental plan or more comprehensive dental coverage.
Vision Benefits
Cover all or a portion of the cost of eye exams, eyeglasses, and contact lenses after a co-pay.
Health-Care Flexible Spending Account
Allows you set aside up to $5,000, pre-tax, to pay for certain out-of-pocket health-care expenses.
Ergonomics Program
Provides workstation evaluations, ergonomic training, and proper tool-use instruction to help you create a more comfortable work area and prevent injuries.
Investing in Your Future
401(k) Savings Plan
You may contribute between 2% and 50% of your salary, tax-deferred. After two months of service, AOL matches 50 cents on the dollar of your first 6% of pay. You are 100% vested in the match after five years.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
Provides an easy way to become an owner or increase your ownership in Time Warner. Eligible participants contribute after-tax pay over each plan purchase period. At the end of the period, you receive Time Warner stock that is purchased at discount from the NYSE closing stock price on the first or the last day of the plan period, whichever is lower.
Life and AD&D Insurance
Offers company-paid group life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance equal to two times your annual salary up to $1,000,000; you may add coverage through employee-paid supplemental term life insurance.
Long-Term Care Insurance
Helps pay the cost of health-related care, either at home or in an institutional setting.
Work/Life Benefits
Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Account
Enables employees to set aside up to $5,000, pre-tax, to pay for eligible child or elder care expenses.
Transportation Reimbursement Account
Lets you save taxes on your work-related mass-transit commuting and parking expenses; up to $200 per month for parking and $105 for mass transit.
Fitness Benefits
Help you stay in shape through on-site fitness centers, where available at larger AOL locations, or through discounted memberships to nationwide fitness clubs.
Employee Discounts
AOL employees can take advantage of many discounts negotiated with various local and regional service providers, as well national discounts offered as part of the company's affiliation with Time Warner, the world's largest media company.
Adoption Assistance
Full-time employees may receive reimbursement of up to $4,000 per eligible child to help offset the expenses incurred when adopting a child.
Banking/Credit Union
Gives employees access to great savings opportunities, attractive loan rates, and a variety of other financial services.
Hyatt Legal Plan
Provides access to attorneys offering a wide range of services -- including contract and document review, real estate transactions, credit problems, wills, living trusts, and traffic violations, as well as phone/office advice for family, civil or criminal litigation.
Auto & Homeowners' Insurance
This coverage is offered through convenient payroll deductions; includes renters, motor/mobile home, and boat insurance.
Pet Insurance
Protects your pets with insurance for dogs, cats, birds, and other animals.
Time Away
Company Paid Holidays
10 scheduled holidays each year, plus two employee-designated personal holidays.
Vacation
Accrual based on years of service.
Sick Time
Up to 10 days (per year) paid sick days for illness, injury, or doctor visits.
Family Sick Leave
Up to 10 days (per year) paid time off for you to care for a sick child, spouse or domestic partner, or other eligible dependent.
Disability Benefits
Short-term disability and long-term disability benefits replace a portion of your income if you become disabled and are unable to work for a period of time.
Other AOL Leave Options
Include jury duty, bereavement, family and medical leave (FMLA), parental leave, military and national emergency/disaster, and personal leaves of absence.
