Celebrity Chef Curtis Stone, Home Improvement Authority Eric Stromer and Decorating Expert Kelly Edwards Offer Consumer Tips with GMC Vehicle Integration
New York, NY – October 27, 2008 - AOL and GMC have extended their “Trade Secrets” video series on AOL Living, http://living.aol.com, featuring cooking, home entertaining and home improvement tips with leading lifestyle experts. The videos, http://www.gmctradesecrets.com, integrate GMC Sierra, Acadia and Yukon Hybrid into professional trade tips from Curtis Stone, Eric Stromer and Kelly Edwards.
The GMC sponsored Trade Secrets videos offer professional grade advice, guides and instructions that consumers can use at home, and feature select GMC vehicles as a key component of each video. The site also is branded with GMC banner ads, rich media placements and GMC video ads. Featured stories on AOL Living, as well as a co-branded buy across Time Warner digital properties, direct consumers to Trade Secrets and regular content updates encourage repeat visits.
“GMC realized the buying power of the AOL audience and how we could successfully integrate their vehicles into this campaign to offer a consumer experience that is both useful and entertaining,” said Stephanie Dolgins, Senior Vice President, AOL Women’s and Lifestyle Programming. “We are thrilled they have continued their partnership so that we can extend the program and provide guidelines and ‘how-to’ instructions to help consumers make the most of their time and money.”
Under the GMC partnership, each of the series incorporates one of the brand's vehicles in action, including the GMC Yukon Hybrid with Curtis Stone’s, the GMC Sierra with Eric Stromer’s and the GMC Acadia in Kelly Edwards’. A GMC vehicle is showcased in some trade secret videos as a useful tool to complete one’s do-it-yourself projects and as fixtures in outdoor scenes. Viewers also are able to tour each of the GMC vehicles through a 360° experience that speaks to each vehicle’s specific attributes.
"We're always looking for ways to connect with consumers on a more emotional level, and for a longer period of time than a typical banner ad,” explains Mary Kubitskey, GMC Advertising Manager. “Trade Secrets enables us to showcase our vehicles in an organic way to an extremely targeted consumer -- one who can see themselves driving an Acadia, Sierra or Yukon Hybrid.”
The entire series offers over 100 three- to five-minute videos, with new content launching every week. Each video features accompanying trade secrets such as:
- Re-sealing a concrete driveway/ GMC Trade Secret: removing stains
- Installing a roll-out pantry in your kitchen/ GMC Trade Secret: spice racks
- Update your patio space/ GMC Trade Secret: choosing outdoor fabrics
- How to dress up your walls without paint/ GMC Trade Secret: finding wall studs
