Apr 18, 2012

Today, the Huffington Post Media Group (HPMG) named John Pavley as their new Chief Technology Officer. Pavley will oversee HuffPost's industry-leading technology platform and expanding programming team. Pavley is a pioneer in Internet-based software, building DoubleClick's user experience lab and global development process before leading technology at a number of startups, most recently at Spotify.

Pavley has been the CTO of two startups, ContextWeb, an early Microsoft .NET-based ad exchange, and Conductor, a leader in machine-learning search engine optimization. In 2009 he implemented LimeWire's Agile development process and led the development of a streaming music service using Python, Java Swing, and P2P technology. Prior to joining the Huffington Post, Pavley founded the New York development office for Spotify and led the development of Spotify's Internet radio and ad serving systems.
