"I'm delighted to welcome British Columbia to the HuffPost Canada family," said Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post Media Group. "With this edition - along with HuffPost Alberta, which also launches today - we're doubling down on our commitment to being a hub of reporting, comprehensive curation, group blogging and engagement across all of Canada."

The site will feature contributions from Huffington Post editors, bloggers, andinfluential British Columbians including author Robin Rowland, Elizabeth May, Leader, Green Party of Canada, radio broadcaster and filmmaker Tetsuro Shigematsu, and singer Sarah McLachlan.

"With close to 1 million people in Western Canada already visiting Huffington Post sites, expansion in this region was a logical choice," said Graham Moysey, GM AOL Canada.
