How Citizen AOL Brought Culture, Code and Community Together in 2016

Helping others is something that’s built into our DNA. At Citizen AOL, we use our strengths and resources to benefit society and make a positive impact on the world. As a corporate giving program, we believe that being a partner in service is just as important as being a partner in business.
Citizen AOL focuses on investing in women and future leaders, strengthening communities and empowering people to make their mark. But to make a meaningful difference on the biggest, global issues, we rely on our three pillars: AOL Charitable Foundation, Employee Engagement and Cause Marketing.
In 2016, Citizen AOL impacted the lives of 31,000 women and underserved youth globally, donated $30 million in media to game-changing nonprofits and spent over 36,000 hours volunteering in our communities. We also celebrated our most influential Monster Help Day, which dedicated 13,420 hours to lead 150 volunteer projects that supported 120 nonprofits.
As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue harnessing the power of our foundation, talent and powerful platforms to change the world around us. Here’s to making a difference in 2017.
