AOL Hires Penny Harris as International Head of Revenue

August 7 2014, London: AOL today announced that Penny Harris is joining the business as International Head of Revenue. In this newly created role, Harris will be responsible for driving the company's international business and revenue, as well as growing AOL's value proposition outside North America.

Harris will have a particular focus on driving revenue through AOL's programmatic and video platforms in Europe and Asia. She will also be responsible for revenue across AOL's owned and operated sites in the regions, which currently have an average of 120m* monthly unique visitors. Harris will manage a team of multi-market sellers in London, as well as 10 regional sales offices, reporting to Graham Moysey, Head of International and Jim Norton, AOL's Global Head of Media Sales.

Harris joins AOL from Microsoft Advertising Global, where she held the role of Senior Director of Multinational Sales. In her 13 years at Microsoft, she led, developed and managed high-performance multi-national sales teams responsible for servicing cross-screen advertising solutions for brands and media agencies.

Harris's appointment follows AOL's recent announcement that it was making all reserved inventory on its owned and operated sites available programmatically through its propriety DSP in the UK. AOL also recently announced a deal with Havas, who have been named a global charter partner for the ONE by AOL, the first global, cross-screen programmatic advertising platform for brands, agencies and publishers. In recent months, AOL also hired James Harris from IPG Mediabrands as Agency Lead and John Baylon, from Starcom Mediavest in the role of Head of Trading.
