AOL Announces John Baylon as Head of International Demand

Sep 30, 2016

AOL has promoted John Baylon to the role of Head of International Demand. In this new role, Baylon will be responsible for the ongoing evolution of AOL’s global demand strategy across brand and platforms for all markets outside of the US. He will define the overall approach and work with local teams to adapt to the individual requirements of clients and partners.

Reporting directly into Graham Moysey, Head of AOL International, with a dual reporting line to Global Head of Media Sales Jim Norton, Baylon will also continue his ongoing Head of Trading responsibilities until a replacement is identified.

“John Baylon is a tremendous asset for AOL’s global business, bringing with him a wealth of key stakeholder relationships as well as an in-depth knowledge of the industry across borders,” commented Moysey. “Key to his success will be his drive to ensure we fully leverage the combined power of our portfolio. I firmly believe he has the skills and vision to successfully lead AOL’s international demand team as the company continues to extend its footprint globally.”

With more than 15 years’ experience in key roles managing the development of trading, John has been with AOL since 2014 when he joined as the Head of UK Trading before moving into the international demand team at the start of 2016 as International Trading Lead. Prior to joining AOL, Baylon spent more than a decade in leadership roles at Starcom MediaVest Group, where upon his departure he was Head Of Trading & Activation for VivaKi.

“I look forward to this exciting challenge. I’m obviously very proud to have been chosen to lead and continue the great work of the demand team internationally at AOL,” added Baylon. “As a business that is seeking to connect with two billion consumers by 2020, the future development of our trading and sales strategies are vital to the future growth of the business. This is a company that prides itself on putting its clients at the forefront of everything we do, and this will very much be my main focus over the coming months.”
