MapQuest Launches iPhone App
MapQuest introduced MapQuest 4 Mobile for the iPhone. The free, full-featured maps and directions app lets users save maps and routes on MapQuest.com and retrieve them on their iPhone, display locations for hotels, movie theaters, gas stations, and more, and view driving directions on an oversized display.
AOL Powers Site Honoring Moon Landing Anniversary
AOL has partnered with the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and The Martin Agency to power WeChooseTheMoon.org - a site celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing by recreating Apollo 11’s lunar mission with archival audio, video, photos and “real time” transmissions. The site will go live at 9:32 a.m. on July 16, 2009 – exactly 40 years after the historic launch. Users also can follow the event through new AOL programming features coming soon at http://news.aol.com/.
AOL Acquires Patch and Going
AOL acquired two companies to add to AOL's network of local services -- Patch focuses on community-specific news and information while Going is a local event platform. Noted AOL Chairman and CEO Tim Armstrong, "Local remains one of the most disaggregated experiences on the Web today -- there’s a lot of information out there but simply no way for consumers to find it quickly and easily. It’s a space that’s prime for innovation."

AOL Food Launches 'Summer Grilling'
AOL Food launched "Summer Grilling" - a summer-long program offered with Stacy’s Pita Chips that includes recipes, grilling guides and advice from experts.
