New MapQuest Widget Offers Missing Child Alerts
MapQuest and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children launched a new widget on MapQuest Local that includes pictures and information about children who are missing from a user's local area. AOL has worked closely with NCMEC for more than 10 years on child safety initiatives for online and offline safety.
Stephane Panier Appointed Global Head of Bebo
AOL named Stephane Panier as head of Bebo’s global operations where he is responsible for scaling the social media network’s operations, advancing its global reach and delivering an exemplary user experience. Panier was previously VP and COO of Bebo, and also spent six years at Google in senior Finance and Operations positions.
A Squared Joins with AOL for Kids Programming

A Squared Entertainment has teamed up with AOL to unveil a new slate of programs to entertain and teach kids about finance, the environment, creativity and science. One is Secret Millionaire's Club, which will feature an animated Warren Buffett. Other programs will feature Gisele Bündchen, Martha Stewart and the late Carl Sagan.
AOL Sites See Growth in June

AOL's MediaGlow sites reached more than 75 million monthly unique visitors in June, an increase of 5% over the previous year, according to the June 2009 comScore Media Metrix report. Other June highlights include AOL.com, which grew unique visitors by 26% over the previous year to 40 million, AOL Music, which increased 34% year over year and leads its category for unique visitors, and BlackVoices and AOL Television, whose unique visitors increased 34% and 23%, respectively, over the previous year. Additionally, more than 20 MediaGlow properties ranked in the top 5 of their respective categories for unique visitors.
AOL Acquires MMAFighting.com
AOL acquired Mixed Martial Arts site MMAFighting.com. After a planned relaunch, the site will incorporate and combine the content and writing staff of AOL's current MMA FanHouse, providing MMA fans with in-depth information on the sport.
