AOL Names its Board of Directors

AOL named nine members to serve on its Board of Directors, drawing on leaders with expertise in Internet, Media, Entertainment, Marketing, and Finance. Among the directors named are: Richard Dalzell, Karen Dykstra, William Hambrecht, Patricia Mitchell, Michael Powell, Fredric Reynolds, James Stengel and Jim Wiatt. They will join the AOL Board when the separation from Time Warner is complete, with AOL CEO Tim Armstrong serving as Chairman of the Board.
AOL CTO Ted Cahall Appointed to Virginia Technology Board

AOL CTO Ted Cahall has been appointed to the newly created Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority (IEIA), which is made up of nine non-legislative citizen appointments, three presidents of state higher-education institutions and the Secretary of Technology. The IEIA’s role will be to support and encourage Virginia’s technology economy.
AOL Launches JSYK.com
AOL launched JSYK.com, a new tween and teen pop culture blog featuring celebrity news, photos, videos, polls, quizzes and more. JSYK.com, which stands for Just So You Know, adds to the growing youth offerings provided by AOL, including KOL and KOL Jr.
Shashi Seth to Lead AOL's Global Advertising Products

Shashi Seth has joined AOL as Senior Vice President of Global Advertising Products, responsible for building and scaling AOL’s advertising platform and developing industry-leading products. Seth comes to AOL from Cooliris, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer. Prior to that he was with Google, where he served most recently as head of monetization for YouTube.

AOL Running Man Voted Favorite Advertising Icon

The AOL Running Man was one of two favorite icons inducted into the Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame on Sept. 21, beating out 25 other popular mascots. As part of the win, the Running Man will also be recognized in the Advertising Icon Museum. The announcement was made during Advertising Week in New York City.
