New widget on MapQuest Local powered by National Center for Missing & Exploited Children
ALEXANDRIA, VA and DENVER, CO — August 24, 2009 — MapQuest, http://www.mapquest.com, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) today announced the availability of a new widget on MapQuest Local, that includes valuable missing child alerts and information from NCMEC. MapQuest Local provides users with locally-relevant content including news, events and restaurant reviews for the city or destination of their choice. The new widget features pictures and information about children who are missing from the geographic area for which the MapQuest Local page is set. Also included is the ability to search for missing children by name and link directly to NCMEC’s homepage and other missing children resources from NCMEC. The new widget can be found at http://local.mapquest.com.

AOL has worked closely with NCMEC for more than 10 years on child safety initiatives for online and offline safety.

New application is the next evolution of maps and directions on iPhone and iPod touch

MapQuest Launches iPhone App
MapQuest introduced MapQuest 4 Mobile for the iPhone. The free, full-featured maps and directions app lets users save maps and routes on MapQuest.com and retrieve them on their iPhone, display locations for hotels, movie theaters, gas stations, and more, and view driving directions on an oversized display.
MapQuest Gets Adventurous with 'Land of the Lost' Sweepstakes
A series of online adventures challenge MapQuest users to find their way through the Land of the Lost
DENVER — May 18, 2009 — MapQuest (http://www.mapquest.com) today announced that it has teamed with Universal Pictures to launch the “Land of the Lost Adventure Sweepstakes,” now available through June 7. The sweepstakes—based on Universal’s comedy adventure Land of the Lost, starring Will Ferrell—leads fans through a series of 10 online games inspired by the film and highlight key MapQuest features and capabilities along the way. Users can access the games—as well as trailers, photos and information about the film—at www.LandoftheLostAdventure.com. The film hits theaters June 5.
