AOL’s Platform-A Reaches More Than Three Out of Four Internet Users Across France, Germany and the UK

London, 29 October 2008 – Platform-A, AOL’s digital advertising business, reaches more than 80 million unique users or 76% of the online audience across France, Germany and the UK.* The Platform-A commercial brand was launched in the three largest markets in Europe over the course of just the last few weeks. Platform-A offers advertisers and publishers a single point of contact for a full suite of industry-leading marketing solutions powered by the Web’s most advanced advertising technologies.

The roll out marks the latest step in Platform-A’s global expansion strategy for Brendan Condon, the division’s International Managing Director. Philippe Besnard, Harald R. Fortmann and Michael Steckler are leading the French, German and UK businesses respectively. Further launches in Europe are planned by year end.

 
 

AOL Europe’s policy chief de Stempel joins Child Web Safety Council

Government-backed council marks UK-first following Byron digital world report

London 29th September 2008: AOL today announces that Camille de Stempel, its Director of Consumer Advocacy and Privacy for AOL Europe, has been appointed to the UK Council for Child Internet Safety, chaired by government ministers.

De Stempel has been Director of Policy for AOL since 2004 covering high priority matters such as law enforcement and security, child protection and consumer confidence issues as well as advertising and privacy policy.

She is responsible for AOL’s policies in areas such as safety and security, editorial and advertising content. In her role, Camille works closely with government, law enforcement, charities, academics and other policy stakeholders.

“I am pleased to be joining the council and look forward to contributing to the debate. This is a unique opportunity to help influence and shape government policy and make the Internet safer for children,” said de Stempel.

 
 

Study by AOL’s Platform-A and OMD Finds that Today’s ‘Supermoms’ Pack 27 Hours of Activities into 16-Hour Waking Day

New York, NY – September 22, 2008 – The new trend in superpowers may be the ability to create time. At least that’s what the “Supermoms” are doing. Today’s moms have become champion multi-taskers who are using mobile phones, the Internet and other media to help them pack 27 hours of activities – including eight hours spent with media – into 16 hours of waking time each day, according to a new study by AOL’s Platform-A and global communications agency OMD. The study, called “Living La Vida Rapida: Today’s Parents Living a Double Life at Double Time,” explored online moms’ lifestyles and media preferences, as well as how advertisers and marketers can leverage these insights to communicate with them more effectively. AOL ChileAOL launched Web sites in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venuezela that offer consumers localized versions of AOL's products as well as local language content. With these launches, AOL now has a presence 25 countries around the world. Localized Content and Services Expand AOL’s Presence in Latin America

New York, NY and Miami, FL – June 25, 2008 – AOL today launched dedicated Web sites serving Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela, providing consumers access to localized versions of AOL’s products and services as well as local language content. Among the features are free email with unlimited storage, instant messaging, the Winamp Media Player, as well as relevant, regional content related to news, sports, celebrities, games and more. In addition, AOL will leverage its worldwide distribution partnership with HP to deliver co-branded, local language portals for these four Latin American countries.
