AOL Launches Four Portals in Latin America

AOL launched Web sites in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venuezela that offer consumers localized versions of AOL's products as well as local language content. With these launches, AOL now has a presence 25 countries around the world. As Maneesh Dhir, EVP AOL International put it, "AOL has the infrastructure, scale and experience to customize our most popular products and services for audiences around the world."

New York, NY and Miami, FL – June 25, 2008 – AOL today launched dedicated Web sites serving Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela, providing consumers access to localized versions of AOL’s products and services as well as local language content. Among the features are free email with unlimited storage, instant messaging, the Winamp Media Player, as well as relevant, regional content related to news, sports, celebrities, games and more. In addition, AOL will leverage its worldwide distribution partnership with HP to deliver co-branded, local language portals for these four Latin American countries.

AOL is expanding its Platform-A ad network to Europe, and named Brendan Condon to head the group, reporting to Lynda Clarizio. Platform-A reaches 125 million online consumers in Europe. AOL Chairman and CEO Randy Falco said that the company can now offer advertisers "the best marketing tools and technologies available to help them effectively and efficiently deliver their messages to online audiences across Europe.”

Brendan Condon has been named head of Platform-A’s International operations, based in London, reporting to Platform-A President Lynda Clarizio.

New York, NY, June 5, 2008 – AOL today announced the international expansion of its popular men’s lifestyle site, Asylum, with launches in Australia, www.asylum.com.au, India, www.asylum.in, Italy, www.asylumitalia.it, and the UK, www.asylum.co.uk. AOL plans to launch Asylum in additional countries by year’s end, as part of the company’s ambitious global expansion effort. Launched in the U.S. in December, Asylum is already the Web’s most visited men’s lifestyle site, attracting nearly 3 million domestic unique visitors in April, with nearly 40% of the traffic coming to Asylum from outside the AOL network.*
