AOL AND BERMANBRAUN LAUNCH "SKYE ON AOL" ON THE SUMMER SOLSTICE

New, Mobile-Optimized Weather Destination Features Interactive Content and Robust MapQuest Integration

New York, NY (June 20, 2012) – Today AOL, a premier digital media company, and BermanBraun, a well-known and creative innovator, announced the launch of Skye on AOL, a visually impactful site that brings a new identity to weather on the Web, and appeals to weather fanatics and temperature seekers alike.

Skye on AOL is a new weather destination that introduces a high level of editorial programming that gives consumers the weather information they crave while surfacing stories that go beyond the traditional weather parameters. Skye prominently features a rich MapQuest integration that zeroes in on the consumers location, providing weather and traffic in tandem on a dynamic map. Built in HTML5, the site is mobile optimized at launch and will be the default source for weather on AOL.com.

Additional features on Skye on AOL include:
  • Maps & Radar: Renderings of local and world weather presented in galleries and slide shows, along with interactive maps for avid weather fans
  • Storm Center: Severe weather alerts and real-time images and articles about breaking weather around the country

Earlier this year AOL and BermanBraun launched Mandatory, an online destination for men that marked AOL's entry into the male consumer lifestyle space, and Pawnation, a website that provides animal lovers with the latest pet lifestyle, nutrition, training, behavior and grooming news.
