AOL CANADA AND THE HUFFINGTON POST CANADA CONTINUE TO GROW
Canadian visitors to AOL Properties exceeds 10 million UVs in August

Toronto, September 22 – Canadian visitors on AOL properties grew substantially in August moving AOL Inc. to the #4 position in the portal category, ahead of the Canoe network. With more than 10 million monthly UVs, a 10 per cent increase from July, this is the largest monthly increase compared to top portal and news competitors. As a major contributor to this growth, The Huffington Post has grown 21 per cent to 1.9 million UV's, surpassing National Post sites for the second consecutive month.

AOL and The Huffington Post Canada have hired a growing roster of talented media and business professionals to join their fast-growing team. Graham Moysey, general manager, AOL Canada, and Brad Cressman, head of content, AOL and The Huffington Post Media Group Canada, welcome the addition of the following key new hires: Vivian Ip, director of agency sales and operations, AOL Canada and Danielle Crittenden as managing blog editor for The Huffington Post Canada.

"AOL Canada is acting on our 2011 commitment to build a smart, creative and competitive team in every part of our business, including signature channels like The Huffington Post Canada," said Moysey. "And with our solid group of both media and editorial contributors in place, we will create an even bigger and better splash in 2012."

Ip joins AOL Canada from Canoe.ca/QMi Sales, where she spent two years as the senior director, media solutions; well-respected in the industry, Ip has more than 17 years of marketing and operational experience. On September 19, Ip started her new role at AOL Canada, reporting to Moysey, to serve as a key ambassador to individual agencies to drive education, evangelism, AOL Canada updates and sales opportunities. Ip will also be responsible for developing and executing annual partnership plans in collaboration with agency heads, sales leadership and other AOL internal stakeholders.

Crittenden, a renowned author, journalist and blogger, has had articles and essays appear in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook, The National Post, Chatelaineand Reader's Digest, among other publications. Crittenden joined the AOL Canada team on September 1, 2011, in her new role as managing blog editor, The Huffington Post Canada; responsible for outreach and coordination of new and existing influential and affective contributors of The Huffington Post Canada's blogger community.

Crittenden's hire comes on the heels of The Huffington Post Canada editorial team bringing on Althia Raj as Ottawa bureau chief in August 2011 from Postmedia News, where she was the national political reporter for print and online. On her first day at The Huffington Post Canada, Raj broke the story about the Government of Canada restoring the Royal designations to Canada's Navy and Air Force. A resident of Ottawa and active media player on Parliament Hill, Raj is bilingual and reports to managing editor Kenny Yum.

"Althia and Danielle are great additions to The Huffington Post Canada and we're thrilled to have them aboard," notes Moysey. "Althia has a track record of breaking stories and is passionate about federal politics. Danielle brings with her a long track record of excellent journalism and has already helped bring a diversity of voices to our blogs."
