TORONTO: June 13, 2011- AOL Canada and Spinner.ca today announced they will take over Yonge and Dundas Square for this year's NXNE music festival at the June 18 DEVO and Men Without Hats concert. Bringing back old school music with new wave marketing, AOL Canada heats things up with, a MyNXNE iPhone app, social contesting, an AOL booth, billboard domination and more!
AOL Canada's partnered with Shweet.com for a social contesting platform and to create the MyNXNE iPhone app that provides festival information and chances to win prizes on the go. On both Spinner.ca and via the MyNXNE app, consumers can win concert access and other Spinner and NXNE prizes by sharing Spinner.ca articles to their social networks. This original online video will be available on the AOL sites.
AOL will dominate the square with three tri-vision boards and video ads that showcase AOL properties, including Spinner.ca, the new AOL.ca homepage and the recently launched HuffingtonPost.ca. The ads will run for eight weeks beginning June 13th and video ads will also be shown in the PATH, Downtown Toronto's underground walkway servicing 28 km of shopping and entertainment.
