Recent AOL Investments in Video Content and Distribution Increase Streams by 195%

New York, NY – December 20, 2010 – AOL Inc. (NYSE: AOL) today announced that Amber J. Lawson has been named to the newly created position of Head of Video Programming. Lawson will be responsible for procuring, programming and promoting AOL's slate of original video content with a laser focus on the AOL consumer audience. She will lead a team that oversees AOL Studios, AOL Video hub, and 3rd party production houses building a robust slate of original programming that will continue the momentum of AOL's video growth.

Comparing data from comScore July 2010 to November 2010*, AOL video streams increased from 192 million to 566 million, an increase of 195%. "You've Got...", the video series that launched on the new on November 1, generated nearly eight million views in its first month, and featured a diverse guest list including Kelly Ripa, Barack Obama, Matt Damon and the Marines in Afghanistan.** For comparison, that puts "You've Got..." on-pace with a top 10 Web series.*** Overall, video views on the new are up more than 3X since launch in November, 2010.****

In the second half of 2010 alone, AOL has closed deals with more than 20 premium content partners and digital studios to deliver a mix of high quality programming to AOL's audiences. Within that mix, AOL has announced several new video franchises not seen anywhere else on the Web, including partnerships with Vuguru, Ben Silverman's Electus, Telepictures Productions, the Ellen DeGeneres Show web site and

Amber J. Lawson comes to AOL from Babelgum where she oversaw the international comedy business, developing, producing, packaging, marketing and distributing original series across Babelgum's IPTV, fixed and mobile platforms. In 2010, Lawson aggressively expanded Babelgum's comedy division, launching more than twenty new series and rolling them into Film and TV properties. In April 2010 she partnered with Streamy Award-winning Kevin Pollak for his directorial debut of VAMPED OUT to critical acclaim. Her work resulted in a 2009 Mobile Excellence Award, four 2010 Streamy nominations and a CTIA Award.

Previously, Lawson served as VP of Programming and ultimately EVP of Branded Entertainment for maniaTV where she used her integration expertise to work with numerous brands including ATT mobility, Wrigley's, Doritos and Samsung.

Lawson is a member of the Interactive Peer Group at the Academy of Television Arts & Science, IAWTV, WOW and Producers Guild of America. She is also the chairman of the ATAS IMPG Membership committee & IAWTV Awards committee.

Lawson will be based in Los Angeles and report to Ran Harnevo, SVP, AOL Video.
