July 15, 2009 – New York, NY – AOL announced that it has acquired the mixed martial arts site, The new site adds to the already extensive Mixed Martial Arts coverage of AOL's MMA FanHouse, and after a planned relaunch later this year will become the home of all MMA content produced under the umbrella of FanHouse,, AOL's flagship sports destination. joins the network of niche and specialized content properties operated by AOL's content publishing division, which reaches more than 75 million monthly unique visitors, according to June 2009 comScore Media Metrix data.

The planned relaunch of, a site started in 2001, will incorporate and combine the content and writers for the current MMA FanHouse, new consolidated destination will provide MMA fans with in-depth information on the sport, which to-date has been unavailable in the mainstream sports media.

FanHouse features more than 30 top sports writers from around the country, including notables such as Jay Mariotti, Kevin Blackistone, Nancy Gay, Lisa Olson, Greg Couch, Terence Moore and David Whitley.
