AOL's FanHouse Signs Syndication Deal with NBC Local Media

New York, NY – February 23, 2009 – AOL and NBC Local Media announced that local sports content from the award-winning is now featured across NBC Local Media sites. FanHouse local sports commentary and blog posts will be available directly on NBC Local Media sites and will include links to blog posts on This marks the first blog syndication deal for both FanHouse,, and NBC Local Media. It is part of the broader strategy of AOL's MediaGlow publishing unit to extend the reach of its content across the Web. is the first new site launched in 2009 by MediaGlow, formed in January 2009 to centralize AOL's publishing efforts.

FanHouse received a 2008 EPpy Award for Best Sports Blog from Editor & Publisher magazine. The site features professionally written blogs covering each team in the NFL, NBA, MLB, as well as top NCAA football, basketball, and baseball teams, mixed martial arts and fantasy sports. also includes essential information such as standings, schedules, photos, stats and news feeds, as well as live blogging and in-depth analysis during games. In January, FanHouse,, replaced AOL Sports as the main sports destination for AOL, targeting males 18-34. AOL Sports saw page views grow 33% and total minutes increase 4% year over year, according to January 2009 comScore Media Metrix data.
