AOL's FanHouse Signs Syndication Deal with NBC Local Media

New York, NY – February 23, 2009 – AOL and NBC Local Media announced that local sports content from the award-winning FanHouse.com is now featured across NBC Local Media sites. FanHouse local sports commentary and blog posts will be available directly on NBC Local Media sites and will include links to blog posts on FanHouse.com. This marks the first blog syndication deal for both FanHouse, http://www.fanhouse.com, and NBC Local Media. It is part of the broader strategy of AOL's MediaGlow publishing unit to extend the reach of its content across the Web. FanHouse.com is the first new site launched in 2009 by MediaGlow, formed in January 2009 to centralize AOL's publishing efforts.

"We are excited to provide local content for the sports enthusiast across NBC Local sites and to expand the FanHouse reach," said Marty Moe, Senior Vice President, AOL Money & Finance, News, FanHouse, Weblogs and KOL. "Sports fans want to hear the latest buzz on their local teams and also get local information and news from outside the sports world. By delivering FanHouse content in an integrated and interactive format to NBC Local Media users, we are helping to provide an engaging experience across the Web."

"Adding FanHouse blog content to our sites enhances our local sports commentary and analysis for true city insiders," said Brian Buchwald, Senior Vice President, NBC Local Media. "This new partnership is another step towards delivering on our goal of providing up-to-the-minute, locally relevant content to our users from the best sources available."

NBC Local Media features numerous daily FanHouse posts across its sites including:

FanHouse received a 2008 EPpy Award for Best Sports Blog from Editor & Publisher magazine. The site features professionally written blogs covering each team in the NFL, NBA, MLB, as well as top NCAA football, basketball, and baseball teams, mixed martial arts and fantasy sports. FanHouse.com also includes essential information such as standings, schedules, photos, stats and news feeds, as well as live blogging and in-depth analysis during games. In January, FanHouse, http://www.fanhouse.com, replaced AOL Sports as the main sports destination for AOL, targeting males 18-34. AOL Sports saw page views grow 33% and total minutes increase 4% year over year, according to January 2009 comScore Media Metrix data.
